We recently sold this pendant but the buyer changed her mind so we are offering it again..........
A small estate found,
nineteenth century 14K yellow gold pendant with a faceted rectangular bezel-set garnet surrounded by a halo of pave-set seed pearls
–
professionally converted from a possibly Georgian pin to a pendant most likely in the early twentieth century
.
Offered with no reserve and a low opening bid.
The pendant measures 15/16” high to the top of the bale x 1/2” wide and weighs
3.3 grams
.
(The bale is 3/16” in diameter overall with a mere 1/16” opening so you’ll need a jump ring to hang from a chain or attach to a bracelet as a charm). It’s unmarked but has been acid tested by us (on a stone and not the item) and is
guaranteed to be solid 14K gold
. The setting is an approximate 2ct garnet surrounded by twenty-five seed pearls.
Condition:
as noted the pendant was professionally converted from a pin many years ago (the bale is affixed to the original pin bar hinge and is stationary). The pearls have light wear, the garnet is clean & clear.
