White Clad Ice Box Refrigerator Advertising Solid Brass Plate - Simmons Hardware

This piece was recently bought in a box lot in an auction with many other antique brass items that were all cleaned by the owner. Everything in the box was old but just polished to look like new. This piece does look like it could be an original, but I can't confirm it 100%. There are some darker areas between the letters. You will have to be the judge of whether it is an old piece or not. I'm starting the auction as if it is a repro.
It is a manufacturer's advertising ID plate made of solid brass. It reads "
White Clad, Simmons Hardware Co., St. Louis, MO., U.S.A.
" This is from the old-style ice box or refrigerator from the early 1900s. It measures 3-9/16" x 1-5/8". The screw holes are 3-3/16" apart.
